Top Chefs launch Sweet September, dedicating desserts to Citymeals

Order Rôtisserie Georgette’s classic tarte tatin to benefit Citymeals-on-Wheels.

Here’s another reason to eat dessert first.

It’s Sweet September in New York, launched today by a cadre of chefs, bakers and restaurateurs at Michael Jordan’s The Steakhouse to benefit Citymeals-on-Wheels. Citymeals has committed to send more than two million meals this year to 18,000 aging and ailing New Yorkers in the five boroughs.

All Michael Jordan's a la carte desserts – even the Fat Boy Chocolate cake – support Citymeals.

Customers may order any a la carte dessert from Jordan’s, the tarte tatin for two from Rôtisserie Georgette, DBGB’s mocha sundae, or Tribeca Grill’s coffee hazelnut torte knowng that calories do not count when it comes to helping feed vulnerable elderly shut-ins. The Sweetstakes run two weeks.

Order Aureole’s lush vacherin to help Citymeals feed the city’s frail homebound elderly.

Other sweets with gifting rights include:

  • “Citymeals Cupcakes” and Sweet Offerings by Aliyyah Baylor at MakeMyCake.
  • Every Milkshake at Schnippers Restaurants
  • Every cookie or brownie at Sprinkles Cupcakes, Cookies & Ice Cream
  • Peanut Butter and Chocolate Gianduja at Telepan
